Forestry Technical Assistance

Demand for the Washington Department of Natural Resources’ landowner assistance programs grows each year. To meet that need, the agency has increased staffing and created two online tools to make its services more accessible to forest landowners.

The agency used funding from House Bill 1168 to create more than two dozen new positions in support of landowner assistance, which led to the expansion of its existing Service Forestry Program into Western Washington, and the addition of six positions in the Small Forest Landowner Regulation Assistance Program statewide.
